WELCOME HOME is a therapeutic community - an abstinence-based residential treatment center for 19 - 40 year old troubled men and women. Whether the trouble is substance abuse, difficulties with the law, dysfunctional behavior, or a need to escape an abusive environment, WELCOME HOME is the place to turn that troubled life around.

WELCOME HOME has a family atmosphere, where love, respect and tolerance co-exist with discipline, responsibility, learning and job training. We teach all aspects of successful living, within a safe and stable environment. Students are motivated to become the very best they can be... physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. They do not simply overcome bad habits, but learn a total new lifestyle. As this takes time, candidates must commit to stay in our WELCOME HOME Program for at least 2 years. The average stay is 4 years.

Key Components of the WELCOME HOME Program are:

  • WELCOME HOME fosters education. Each student must pass a high school equivalency exam to successfully graduate from WELCOME HOME.


  • WELCOME HOME is a place for job-training, where one's talents are developed into marketable job skills.


  • WELCOME HOME is a place for recreation, as social and physical activities are an important part of developing a healthy lifestyle.


  • WELCOME HOME students are encouraged to develop their spiritual nature and are introduced to basic tenets of various religions.


  • WELCOME HOME students graduate when they are ready to join society as contributing members. At this time they have a job and a savings account. Most importantly, they possess the inner strength to successfully overcome life's challenges.


  • WELCOME HOME does not accept arsonists, those with mental illness, and people with a history of sexual or other violent behavior. Those with alcohol or drug dependency must be detoxified before entering.


  • WELCOME HOME is free of charge to those with the sincere desire to change their lives as long as they continue to progress.
The WELCOME HOME Program is funded by The John Volken Foundation, by proceeds from Welcome Home Liquidation Outlets, and by donations from supporting businesses and friends.
